PERSONS NOT COMPLYING WITH THESE RANGE USE RULES WILL BE SUBJECT TO:

… MEMBERS/PASS-HOLDERS WILL BE SUSPENDED.

… NON-MEMBERS/PASS-HOLDERS WILL BE REQUIRED TO LEAVE THE RANGE.

*The changing demographics of the membership of BCGC, and the probability of an increase in the numbers of non-member shooters using the range has necessitated a clarification of the rules concerning range safety and the protocol for sharing the range to avoid conflicts. The following rules will be printed and conspicuously posted at the range. A new sign-in book will be placed at the "Stat House" to assist in their implementation.

For obvious reasons, these rules will require subtle modifications when applied to the 100 yard range not yet constructed.

1. Upon arrival you must sign in with your name, date, arrival time, firing line, and your membership card or pass must be placed where it is visible on the dashboard of your vehicle.

2. If the range appears empty you must assure the safety of the range by driving (or walking) down to the pit area and visibly inspecting the pits and impact area.

3. Prior to commencing firing you must close the safety gate adjacent to the 600 yard firing line.

4. If the range is occupied the following usage rules apply:

1. The shooter (or shooters) already using the range are entitled to one (1) full hour of range control*, from the time they signed in.

* "Range control" means priority over which firing line is being utilized and responsibilities that would normally be those of a line officer at a match, ie: Calling for a cease fire or declaring the line "hot", declaring the pits closed or open, etc. It DOES NOT mean newly arrived shooters can't join the individual or group that is currently shooting until their time ends.

2. A group of shooters who arrive together will have a maximum of two hours range control.

3. If the occupying shooter (or shooters) have already surpassed their original hour(s) they are to relinquish control of the range to the arriving shooter (or shooters).

4. In the case where a third shooter arrives while the first shooter (or group) is waiting to regain control of the range the new arrival follows the current shooter (or group) in accordance with rule number one (1).

5. At no time can a shooter who has already had an hour of range control re-enter the rotation of control ahead of any new arrival.

6. Any shooter on the range who has not signed in properly will immediately relinquish the range to a new arrival.

7. Failure to sign in will be considered a violation of these rules.

8. Violation of these rules may lead to suspension of the offending member/pass-holders' range privileges by the Board of Directors.

Members/pass-holders are encouraged to treat each other with respect and negotiate strategies to share the range whenever possible.
